
Professor Celia Harding trained as a speech and language therapist at University College London, graduating in 1986. She joined the Department of Language and Communication Science, City, University of London in October 2004 but maintained weekly clinical neonatal work at The Royal Free Hospitals Foundation Trust alongside academic teaching and research. Much of Professor Harding’s work has been undertaken with a wide variety of neonatal medical, nursing and allied health colleagues exploring neonatal feeding and early communication. Since September 2019, Professor Harding has retained an emerita role at City, University of London. She is currently working with colleagues from the University of Hertfordshire on early infant communication with particular emphasis on preterm infants and their families.
